High School Teacher Caught Having Affairs with Students

High school teacher that was having sexual relations with two 16-year-old girls, one of which he even gave a promise ring to, is now being charged with eight felony accusations alleging sex offenses. According to the county attorney, five of the alleged counts are, “unlawful sexual relations, consensual sexual intercourse, lewd fondling or touching, or sodomy”.

Christopher Young, 45, is the social studies teacher and coach at Peabody High School. He’s married and lives with his wife, but also has a separate trailer where he would often meet with the students. Although on certain occasions both girls were with him, he was more romantically involved with one of them than the other.

An affidavit has just been released with more information on the situation in question. According to the information enclosed, this was not just a one-time interaction. In fact, his relationship with the student, whose name will not be mentioned at this time, was so serious that in December of 2017, Young had given her a promise ring as a Christmas gift.  On one occasion, after having spent the night with both students, he even drove them to school the next morning.

In the school’s video system, the administration found many things that were suspicious and not allowed or acceptable in the school building such as his classroom door being locked prior to the start of class multiple times,  standing outside his classroom in the hallway while class was in session, going off into an alcove in the hallway with the girl during school hours, and her repeatedly going into his classroom while she should’ve been in another class.

The Superintendent, Ron Traxxon, has said this is an, “open, ongoing, and pending investigation with the police department” and that many school board members are aware of the situation. Christopher Young has not been arrested, but an arrest warrant has been issued.
